Yes. Our telehealth services include a range of psychological counselling. If you would like to find out more about our telehealth or psychology services, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Speech Pathology

A speech pathologist and speech therapist are the same thing. While some individuals prefer one term over the other, there is no meaningful or substantial difference between the two.
You may have also heard of an SLP, or a speech-language pathologist. This term is also used to refer to speech pathologists or speech therapists.

No you do not need a referral to see one of our speech pathologists. If you’re coming in for an autism assessment however, a paediatrician will need to provide you with a referral before seeing a speech pathologist.

Yes they do! The speech pathologists at One Central Health don’t just specialise in language and communication. They also provide therapy for swallowing, eating, drinking and fussy eating.

Yes. Our speech pathologists are able to provide therapy via telehealth. If you would like to find out more about speech therapy through telehealth, please give our team a call today.

Occupational Therapy

Yes our occupational therapists conduct school visits. If you’d like to explore the possibility of an occupational therapist attending your child’s school, we recommend speaking directly to your school’s administration and then getting in touch with our team.

Behaviour Therapy

The term behaviour therapy refers to a number of different therapies that provide support to clients with mental health disorders, including depression, ADHD, self-harm, social issues, developmental issues, eating disorders and more.

ABA Therapy is a completely evidence-backed form of therapy with decades of research behind it. While some people may have heard of ABA Therapy as a stigmatised form of therapy, this mostly due to unfair associations with outdated applications of the therapy. ABA Therapy, as practised by One Central Health, is a scientifically-backed program and is always conducted ethically, responsibly and based on best practice therapy.

Yes our behaviour therapists are available for telehealth appointments. If you would like to find out more about our behaviour therapy via telehealth, please speak with our reception staff when booking your appointment.

Paediatric

Yes. Our paediatricians do offer appointments via telehealth. If this is your preferred method of consultation, please let our team know when booking your appointment.

Paediatric repeated scripts last for 6 months before they expire. All appointments need to be paid for before scripts are sent to your preferred pharmacy. If your script hasn’t expired, you will need to pick up the last repeat before a paediatrician can write a new one.

Yes. Our paediatricians will need to assess your child during a booked appointment before writing a new script. Due to how in demand our paediatric services are last minute appointments for late scripts are not always available.

Our paediatricians’ books are currently closed at the moment. While we are currently not booking in any new clients, please give us a call so we can put you on our waiting list.

Clients will need to provide the appropriate forms for the paediatricians to complete. These forms can be found online through Centrelink for clients who are registered. Please ensure you bring the right forms as there are a number of form options. For more information, please get in touch with Centrelink and/or your GP.

If you just need a new form completed, you do not need to book an appointment with one of our paediatricians. Please note that forms completed outside of an appointment will incur a cost of $40.

Autism Assessments

Autism assessment referrals are received from paediatricians. Once you have received a referral from your GP to see a paediatrician and attend your appointment, the paediatrician will assess your child and, if deemed necessary, refer you to our autism assessment psychologists and speech pathologists.

In Western Australia a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder needs to be signed off by a paediatrician, psychologist and speech pathologist. One Central Health provides all three services in one, central and convenient location.

Autism assessments are not conducted over telehealth. If you would like to have your child assessed for autism and have received a referral from a paediatrician but cannot attend an appointment, please give our team a call.
